Day 16

Today was such a longgg day! Left the house for 7:30 and got back at 11pm. Crazy long, but good!
This morning started with one of my favorite things in the world: chocolate milkkkk!!!! :) It was very below average, but I am glad I got my fix for now! Can't wait to get some Borden's chocolate milk when I get back home!

Class was spectacular, as usual. We started our book titled "Human Relations in World Missions". We are moving on to talk about the importance of missionaries and what they do. We watched a documentary movie in class on the Waodani Indian Tribe located in the Amazon region of Ecuador. The movie was about being a martyr for your faith. The documentary covers 5 Christian families who moved to the surrounding areas of the Amazon in the 1950's to spread the gospel to the Waodani's, who were savages and were not accepting of newcomers. The movie shows their attempt to reach them, their success at reaching them, the unfortunate situation of the 5 men being martyred for a misunderstanding, and how the wives & families overcame it and stayed in the jungle to finish the mission started.
This movie really puts things into perspective for me. Why do something that you aren't willing to die for? Why do something halfway? Believe in what you do, and even if you die it will not be a loss. Realistically, there are dangers to preaching the gospel. But I am willing to take on the danger. For whatever I lose on Earth for the Kingdom, I will gain in Heaven.

After class, me and the girls decided to stay for the youth night there. We watched a movie and ate smores! What's not to love?!! After the movie, we all ate pizza before the Bible study. Dinner was eventful with the kids. They played Chubby Bunny with marshmallows, and we all just had a time of laughter together.
Then, we had worship and then our Bible study. We talked about the story of Jesus casting the demon out of the man into the pigs in the book of John. So we discussed demons, which was interesting to the kids and almost every one had a story about demons in their lives. This stuff is real, and the devil tries his hardest to get those who are really making a difference in the Lords kingdom. He has no reason to torment his own people, but only the ones he feels is a threat. These kids must be doing something right to be such a threat, but breaks my heart they are having to deal with this at such a young age. It's great that Ben and Anne started this outreach to help nurture these teens in their walks with the Lord since they don't have anyone else to lean on. As I have said before, almost every Christian I come in contact with here is a first generation Christian. Their parents aren't, and don't know many others. But someone told them about Christ and they wanted Him in their lives too. So brave!
