Day 47

Today was our off day. We spent it by sleeping until 10:30  :)  It was great. We decided to spend our last off day in Cambodia doing some souvenir shopping for our families. We went to Central Market where we grabbed a quick lunch before starting our shopping excursion.

The dome is the center of the open market. Very pretty!

After shopping, we went over to Swenson's for some ice cream. I had never been there before, but it was amazinggggg!

On the way home, we had to take 2 tuk-tuk's because there were too many of us. The other tuk-tuk ran out of gas on the way home. This is a typical Cambodian gas station, since they have few real ones. A cart on the side of the street with old bottles filled with gas. It is more convenient because majority of transportation in the country is by motorcycle, which is what a tuk-tuk is (a motorcycle with a pretty wagon-ish tthing attached to the back with two benches). You just pull off on the side of the road and someone comes pour a bottle inside your moto.

Once we got home, Anne and Ben were there!!! LOVE them!

They came from Singapore to film a documentary on what we are doing in Cambodia and we were asked to take part in it. It covers what our program does, what we are doing in Cambodia with all of the villages, and what Alma Café is doing (which is the café downstairs that he and his wife opened to take girls off the street and give them a job instead of selling themselves).  Each of the students gave a brief description of what we are learning and enjoying while here.
After that, me and Bliss went to the coffee shop to have dinner and do our daily Bible reading. Sometimes I complain that we have so much to read on our schedule, but I really am loving in. It takes 21 days to form a habit. And we have been reading about 12-15 chapters of the Bible a day for the last 47 days! What a great habit to form! By the time we go home, we will have finished the entire Bible. What an accomplishment!
