I know I mentioned the last village was remote, but this was on an entirely different level. That last village was a resort compared to the way these people live. Mind blowing, truly. We crossed over a handmade bridge, that had 3 huge holes in it. Praise the Lord we did not fall through. I was terrified! Most had no shoes. And they had make shift huts, all of them. Not a single decent home on the street we were on. No running water. They had to pump water out of a well and carry buckets down to their homes.
Here are some of the stunning views on our way there. Beautiful! Most of this was rice fields and other crops. Majority of Cambodia is farming. As we passed by the field, people were mid-thigh deep working inside of them. Also, I learned 80% of the population of Cambodia lives this way. It is so hard to believe so many people in this world live this way. We truly are the exception living in America.
Less than 45 seconds of being out of the vans, and I had my first near death experience (as in a I almost fell to the ground suffering from a heart attack). As they were taking down chairs for us to sit on, there was a HUGE SPIDER attached to the bottom of one, and do I mean HUGE! I am not exaggerating. These insects here are ungodly huge. It was the size of my hand. Long legs. Scary!!! When it was knocked off the chair, it hopped away. Weirdest thing ever. After that moment, I was on guard for any scary unexpected creatures! To think these people don't have doors, and have huge gaps in their home, these spiders (and even worse) could be inside their homes. My mind honestly cannot wrap my brain around it. Frightening. I am scared for them. What if the step on one without shoes?!! But I guess if that's all you know, then its all you know.

On the way home from the village, we were stopped outside the ferry and they had all these people passing by selling weird food on their heads. Sean got a bit adventerous, and bought an assortment of bugs: roaches, crickets, beetles, etc. So I tried a cricket! It taste like crunchy seasoning, but knowing that it was a bug prevented me from actually enjoying it!
After we got home, we went grab lunch, ran a few errands, came home to relax, then pizza with Meygan. Very very very good day!
