Day 39, slums

This morning was church at Water of Life. After we got some street food: fried chicken and smoked corn on the cob. Excellent and all for a grand total of: $1.

Then relaxing time until we had to be at the slums for 6:30. Meygan goes to these slums often so she took us with her. As we pulled up, kids ran everywhere to come see us. They swarmed around us each kid fighting to hold one of our hands! We all had a kid in each hand smiling and hugging all over us. It was soo sweet! It was a children's service, but the parents are so hungry for the Word, they sit in on the classes too. Since we were in the slums in the dark, we didn't have very much light. Here are a few pictures I was able to get:

Just before we headed home, the heavens opened up and poured. And did it pour! It has been raining nonstop for about 3.5 hours and counting. By the time we got on our tuk-tuk's, the water had risen soooo high! The streets were flooded, so high you couldn't see a curb, or sidewalks. Standing water was everywhere! There were stranded motorcycles all along the road because the water was too high. Our tuk-tuk kept stopping and shutting off. So needles to say we were all in heavy prayer to make it back home. The slums in Cambodia is the last place you want to get stranded!
